Large Tree Removal

Efficiently and safely, we take on full-service tree removal for large and difficult trees. Whether you’re clearing a new view, making space for new land use, or have a dangerous tree that poses a risk to you or your property, Hughes Contracting can take care of it.

Land clearing

New sub-divisions or property expansion, upgrading public land use, or clearing old, unsafe shelterbelts – we take on a wide range of land clearing projects, removing trees and scrub to get land ready for the next phase of your project.

Contract Chipping

With wood chippers ranging in 12 inch – 20inch capacity, we make tidy work of even the largest trees. Mulch can be left for use on your property, or carted away when the job is done.

Scrub Mulching

Excavator mounted mulching heads on our 5 and 12 tonne machines allow us to clear even the gnarliest of scrub growth. We can clear any unwanted vegetation or weeds, including gorse, blackberry, or cleared forestry land. Steep terrain or hard to reach areas are no trouble for our skilled team.

Storm Damage Clean Up

Unexpected storm damage can cause major disruption and hazardous conditions, with fallen trees blocking road access or driveways, or potential for powerline or property damage. We offer a 24-hour emergency call out service, and our heavy duty gear (including a 20-tonne excavator) will make clean up efficient when time is of the essence.
